What Is Medical Imaging?

Medical imaging is a technique that allows doctors and medical professionals to see inside the body to diagnose and treat medical conditions. Medical imaging includes various modalities such as X-ray, CT (computed tomography), MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), ultrasound, and PET (positron emission tomography).

How Does An X-Ray Work?

X-rays use electromagnetic radiation to produce images of the body. The X-ray machine emits a small amount of radiation that passes through the body and is detected on the other side by a special film or detector. Different tissues absorb X-rays at different rates, which allows doctors to see differences in density and identify abnormalities.

How Much Is My Visit Going To Cost?

The cost of your visit depends on the complexity of the visit. This is determined based on which services and/or procedures you need. You can see our service fees here, but feel free to call a clinic if you have more specific questions. (For Medicare patients, CLICK HERE.)

Do You Accept Health Insurance?

We don’t accept insurance other than Medicare. Our cash-only model helps us keep our prices affordable and our wait-times short. Chances are, even if you have insurance, a visit with us will still save you money!

Will It Be More Affordable For Me To Go To A Doctor That Accepts My Insurance?

That depends! The emergency room will always be more expensive, unless you have a low ER copay. If your deductible (the amount of money you pay before your insurance kicks in) is high, then we’re a great option; you’ll likely have to pay hundreds of dollars elsewhere for a regular doctor visit. If you have a lower deductible with an inexpensive copay, then your primary care physician may be a more affordable option. If you believe that time is money, then we're always affordable.

Can I Still Submit A Claim To My Insurance Company?

Yes! When you visit a Corner Clinic, ask a team member for a form that we will help you fill out and send to your insurance company; they may apply your visit amount to your deductible.

Do I Need To Make An Appointment?

Nope! Just stop by a clinic when we’re open and you’ll be seen within a few minutes. Check out our clinic locations here.

How Long Does A Medical Imaging Exam Take?

The length of a medical imaging exam will vary depending on the type of exam being done. X-rays and ultrasounds are generally quick and can be completed in a matter of minutes.
